XINOcapture is the powerful and flexible capture software from microform GmbH for all capacity ranges.

It is designed for central scan solutions with high throughput and big volumes, and also for decentralized, department-based work, down to desktop applications. XINOcapture offers ample possibilities to design the capture process, exactly fitting your demands, no matter if it is a single stand-alone license or bound in a complex server solution, if for high-volume processing or in a desktop application.
Besides the perfect bonding to the XINO scanner series, also a multitude of other document scanners is supported via ISIS and Twain. Therefore, XINOcapture makes it possible to support, with just one software, also a heterogeneous pool of units, even including the quality assurance workplaces.

Variants of XINOcapture:
Matching program variants are available for many different application purposes. The scope of functionality distinguishes the variants Standard, Professional, and Gold. These variants allow to support the scan stations at full speed. Quality assurance is optimally granted by the QSI variant. For stations with less powerful scanners, speed-limited variants are available.
Features of XINOcapture:
Multistream
XINOcapture allows to scan, to process, and to store bitonal, grayscale, and color images, all at the same time. Rules easily determine which color formats shall be waived at the end of the process. If the connected scanner is not able to deliver the images as multistream, it is possible to scan a color image and to create the missing color formats with XINOcapture using ACPD (AdvancedCOLORDocumentProcessing) and MDIT (MultiDimensional Intelligent Thresholding).
ACPD (AdvancedCOLORDocumentProcessing)
is a function for XINOcapture Gold. It serves for filtering of color images. Here, any color from the whole color spectrum can be filtered out before generating a grayscale image.

MDIT (MultiDimensional Intelligent Thresholding)
analyses the optimum brightness spreading of the image and can thus correctly binarize also in extremely difficult cases.

Bates Stamping (electronic stamp, text annotation)
An electronic stamp can be superimposed onto the image, in form of a bitmap. This bitmap can be freely scaled and positioned. Besides the bitmap, also a text string can be added, in any size and orientation. This text may contain system variables (like date, time, or diverse counters). The Bates stamp can be run independent of the scanner’s imprinter control.
The integrated Zone Processor
allows you to split up a double-side original into 20 individual images, at max, even with different properties. So, for example, a folded A3 original can be split to four pages A4 in any sequence.
Multiple Post-Processing Functions
serve for enhancing the image quality, reading barcodes, and automatic text recognition (OCR). With color scanning, edge enhancement comes on top, and also the possibility to filter any color from the original image, or to transform gray images to bitonal images, and to suppress color noise. Also, Gamma correction is available, as an optional PlugIn.

RSoD (ReScan on Demand)
Besides the steps which can be automatically performed for every image, RSoD offers, mainly in the interactive range, a simple and fast image enhancement via a two-dimensional control pad. Depending on the availability of the source images, gamma correction can be executed, or the bitonal image is newly created, using MDIT. The essential parameters are interactively determined by the slider’s position.
1D-Barcode-, 2D-Barcode-, Patchcode-Recognition, and OCR
The results from the recognition modules can be freely utilized XINOcapture, for example for automatized document separation, for indexing, or for generating names for files, or folders. Automatic document separation is also possible after a defined number of pages, or simply by a white sheet.
Powerful Event Control
The most powerful tool for a free process design are the so called Event Rules. They offer a multitude of possibilities to arrange features like barcodes, OCR results, counter readings, file sizes, or any system- and user-variables to specific functions, for further processing. So, actions can be executed controlled by conditions and events, like: create new folders, set values for variables, tag images, mark images for deletion, start new documents, show dialogs, send messages to later systems (DMS), and even more. Also self-defined functions can be used. This way, even very complex regulations can be put in action.

User Dialogs for Data Capture
Besides capturing the document itself, often additional data must be entered for the scan batch, or for the individual images. User dialogs for data capture can easily be defined and called on purpose. Dialogs can be enabled wither for every single image (manual indexing) or just once for the batch (for capturing the batch data). Additionally, the event control can enable dialogs specifically when required, for example when a barcode could not be recognized.

Universal Upload Functions
Every scan program is only as good as its ability to connect to your archive, workflow, or document management system (DMS). Besides image files (TIFF, JPEG or PDF), barcode files and text files generated by the OCR can also be written in different formats. XINOcapture offers multiple possibilities for transferring meta data via batch files, using included modules, or self-written modules. So, most different systems can be connected via simple text- or CSV files, XML files, up to databases. Form and contents for meta data transfer can be configured freely.

Background Processing
XINOcapture makes use of the advantages of state-of-the-art multi-processor computers. The program places partial processes in the background, while the next scan batch can already be scanned in the fore-ground. Via the integrated Finalize module, the version XINOcapture Gold can forward the open data structures, which were built up during the scanning process, in the background to the data structures of the target folder, as defined by the user. The Process option allows, for the variants Professional, Gold, GL, and QSI, to run time-consuming processing steps like OCR, image enhancement, etc. in a background process. After such steps, Process can, condition-controlled either finalize the batch, or forward it to manual post-processing.

Profile-Supported Batch Processing
In order to ease the usage for the operator as far as possible, specific Profiles are created. They serve for problem-free work processes because all batches of a document kind are processed in the same manner. These Profiles contain all processing steps and rules for the relative processing demand. System administrators can easily set such Profiles with menu-controlled dialogs. The operator gets a simple surface and must not bother about rules or setup.

Individual Surface
The screen layout can be customized in order to adopt it to the relative working demand. This includes the arrangement of windows, and also the visibility of toolbars. Macros offer the possibility to lay defined sequences of actions on specific toolbar buttons. So, for example, action sequences like „Finalize“ and „Print summary“ are combined for the user to one single action. Certainly, such action sequences can be bound to the relative Profile and be assigned to icons of your own choice. Instead of having to learn individual sequences of key strokes, the operator can always use the same symbols, no matter which processes are included.

User Privilege Administration
The usage of individual Profiles, and also every single action for usage and configuration can be assigned with privileges. Base for this privilege administration is the Windows user, or a Windows user group.

Expandability
XINOcapture
features ample expansion possibilities. Numerous PlugIns offer functional expansions on demand. An interface for the usage of VisualBasic Script allows individual expansions in an easy way. Many script functions belong to the scope of supply. They can be viewed, or adopted. Exemplary source text for expansions is included in the documentation. Should, nevertheless, further self-programmed PlugIns be requested, an SDK is available for them.
